In April 1987 Daniel Pinkham was commissioned by the Unitarian Universalist Association to write a work for soprano, small chorus, brass quintet and harp. The resulting work, "Getting To Heaven," is a setting of Emily Dickinson poems which was premiered in Boston in October 1987. This recording is of a March 14, 1992 Goucher College performance by Margaret Genovese, soprano; the Baltimore Choral Arts directed by Tom Hall; the Annapolis Brass Quintet; and Deborah Fleisher, harp. Ronald Roseman was an internationally acclaimed oboe soloist, chamber musician, and composer whose career spanned over 40 years. In 1987 he composed his "DOUBLE QUINTET" for woodwinds and brass.
