George Heussenstamm
CANONIC FANFARE, Op. 74
Canonic Fanfare, Op. 74 by Los Angeles composer George Heussenstamm, was written as a gift to the Annapolis Brass Quintet in 1985. It is a very short piece in G-major for which the offstage players enter one by one playing the imitative passage over and over until they are fully assembled on stage.
The Annapolis Quintet performed this delightful spatial fanfare to signal the end of performance intermissions in hundreds and hundreds of concerts all over the world. |
