Elam Sprenkle, was born in 1945 to a family rooted in the Mennonites of southern Pennsylvania. That explains his Biblical first name . . . more difficult is finding the wellspring of his versatility.  A teacher of music history, theory and ideas at the Peabody Conservatory and Johns Hopkins University, a choir director, a WBJC-FM radio veteran, ​and one of Maryland's most prolific, respected and successful composers.

ARTPARK is a park and a cultural institution located on the Niagara Gorge, NY. Established in 1974, Artpark is a collaboration between the New York State Parks and the cultural nonprofit institution Artpark & Company.  The Annapolis Brass Quintet was privileged to serve as an Artpark Resident Ensemble over several summers in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

Artpark is currently programmed and managed by an independent non-profit Artpark & Co. and is widely regarded as a summer outdoor music venue ranked one of the top 100 amphitheaters worldwide by Pollstar.  Artpark delivers 150+ events attended by 150,000+  visitors, on 150+ acres of land over 110 days of summer.  Ninety of these events are community & family programs delivered to over 50,000+ people at low or no cost.
