James Stepleton: Divertimento for Brass Quintet
JAMES STEPLETON is an American composer, teacher and former data processing consultant. He taught at several universities including Columbia University, Michigan State, University of Maryland, and Augustana College, where he served as head of the music theory program.
James Stepleton's "Five Sonnets of Michelangelo" was commissioned and premiered by the South Dakota Symphony and his "Serenade for Solo Guitar" won the Andres Segovia (1893–1987) Guitar Competition. In 2003, Mr. Stepleton's full-length opera was given a reading by New York City Opera.
