PictureERROL WEISS SCHLABACH: American Composer & Arranger
Errol Weiss Schlabach (1942 - 2018) was an American composer, arranger, teacher and woodwind performance specialist.

He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music where he obtained his Master of Music degree in composition. Schlabach then served as composer, arranger and saxophonist in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Navy Band from 1966 to 1970 and with the U.S. Marine Band from 1972 to 1976.

In 1976 Schlabach arranged all of the music for the Annapolis Brass Quintet's 1977 Christmas album, The Spirit of Christmas Brass, which
was heralded by Fanfare magazine as "A sparkling collection of Christmas music that takes full advantage of the virtuosity of the Annapolis Brass Quintet."

In 1974 Schlabach wrote two works for our ensemble: his two-movement
Quintet for Sunshine,
and today's featured piece
