The Annapolis Brass Quintet is America's only full-time performing brass quintet, and has been acclaimed one of the world's truly fine chamber ensembles. Each season the quintet performs in the cultural centers and universities and colleges throughout the U.S. These annual tours, their brass symposiums and the commissioning of new works by American composers, have been instrumental in fostering the tremendous interest in brass chamber music that is now evident in our country. The Annapolis Brass Quintet has toured the European continent eight times, performing in the major cities of Europe, and recording for the broadcast centers in Germany, Holland, Norway and Belgium. In May 1979 the quintet won the Critics Award in Munich for their performance of Elliott Carter's Brass Quintet (1974).
